Our history traces back to 1976, when Marhen began as a small, family-owned start-up. Since then we have advised businesses through hard markets and soft ones, recessions and recoveries, and the arrival of entire industries that did not exist when we opened our doors.
That track record matters for a simple reason: insurance is a promise about the future, and the value of the promise depends on the firm behind it still being here when you need it. Nearly five decades in business is our answer to that question.
The founding mission still guides the firm: "To help our clients build strong, personalized Insurance Protection Plans to safeguard what matters most: their families, their homes, their assets and their businesses."
Why we specialize in technology.

We built Tech Insurance Ontario because generic business insurance kept failing to describe what technology companies actually do. Our work is to understand your services, your clients, your contracts, and the obligations you take on, and then shape coverage around that picture.
This is advisory work, not order-taking. We ask about your client agreements, your vendor questionnaires, and how you deliver your services, because the answers change what your insurance should look like.

Independent. We are an independent brokerage, not tied to any single insurance company. We search across insurers for the combination of coverage, terms, and value that fits your business.
Licensed and accountable. Our brokers are licensed by the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO), the regulator for insurance brokers in this province, and we are members of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO).
