Every coverage below, in business terms.
Contracts name coverages; this page translates them. If a requirement names something you do not see here, ask us: the list below covers what technology companies are most often asked for, and we place beyond it.
- Technology Errors & Omissions (E&O): The core of most technology insurance programs. Responds when a client alleges your technology work, advice, or services caused them financial loss.
- Cyber Liability: Addresses privacy breaches and data incidents, and the cost of responding to them. Distinct from liability for your professional work.
- Commercial General Liability: The baseline most contracts ask for. Covers third-party bodily injury and property damage, including work performed on client premises.
- Professional Liability: Covers claims that your professional services or advice fell short. Technology E&O is the technology-specific form of this coverage; many contracts name one, some name both.
- Directors & Officers (D&O) / Management Liability: Protects the people making decisions as the company grows, takes on investment, or answers to a board. Often the first coverage an investor asks about.
- Crime / Social Engineering: Responds to fraud-driven losses, including funds-transfer fraud and social engineering schemes aimed at your team.
- Business Interruption: Replaces income lost while your operations are down after a covered event, so a disruption does not become a cash crisis.
- Equipment / Property: Covers the hardware and equipment your work depends on: servers, devices, and the tools your team cannot operate without.
- Employment Practices Liability: Responds to employment-related claims such as wrongful dismissal or harassment allegations. The more people you employ, the more this matters.
- Umbrella / Excess Liability: Adds limits above your primary policies. When a contract demands higher limits than any single policy provides, this is how you meet it.
